
To echo another commentor here, if I could make what I make now being a bookseller at B&N, I would do it in a heartbeat. You can borrow books (to be a knowledgeable bookseller), get 50% off the cafe if the store has it, and the workplace environment is usually awesome (being a bookstore, it attracts fellow book-lovers!). That said, the store I worked at as a high schooler was amazing, as was the store I worked at while looking for full-time employment. A lot of people treat B&N like the public library though and expect you to help them do their homework. I would have some nice conversations with customers about books and authors here and there.


Along with that I also had to regularly wander the store straightening shelves and putting away merchandise.
